FBH Dont worry just part number required. |
|
Hi Gents
FBH unreliable, the fuel pump is ticking when the heater works, so I am sure the pump is goosed. [Maybe someone in the know will confirm this] I can’t find a part number, [ done a search but a LOT of pages came up ]
Anyone know the part number

The fuel pump is supposed to tick (unless it's ticking very loudly). If the heater works then the pump must be 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

Thanks Martin
A little more explanation required me thinks. First start in the morning, it starts up, smoking nicely
Then it stops abruptly, the pump is ticking very loudly and you can feel the tick when you feel the pump.
I never heard the tick before, and it is loud. Second attempt and it works ok. I have the bellautoservices box remote.

It may be that the glow plug is a bit gumed up and when it switches over to flame detect mode, the resistance rises/drops (Forget which way it goes TBH) after a short while and senses a flame out and goes into cool down mode. Second run gets the glow plug hotter and therefore maintains the burn. Mark.

Had it running for 2 hours yesterday, with no problams.
Its this very loud ticking pump that bothers me. If I could get a part number, I would change and see if it works. Even serched Google cant find it

The fuel pump is under the vehicle near the fuel tank and is part number JEX000043
Are you sure you're not confusing it with the coolant pump which is mounted to the FBH bracket? Just checking 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

Buy a obd cable and use the free Webasto software to read the faults. if it works on the second start it's unlikely to be the pump.
