Another Daytime Running Lights Question
Hi, I have just collected my 3 month old ex demo HSE 2012 MY. My question is that the handbook says the car has daytime running lights but she doesn't, the dealer said that there might be a recali for an upgrade but I dont beleive that, can anyone shed any light on the issue?
Seems a pain to turn on and off the side lights every time you get in and out of the car.

You are in the D3 bit but no DRLs as standard on a D4 - not even on MY13 cars.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

Yes, sorry posted in the D3 not the D4 section, can any one move it?
Page 38 of the Discovery 4 Owner Handbook tell you when the lights should work and also states they can be enabled / disabled by the dealer. but not my dealer.

Handbook covers a lot of markets, not just UK. The DRL functions can be set by one of the forum members with a Faultmate MSV2. Think IID Tool owners can set the DRL functions too.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

Land Rover are doing an LED add on kit but it is pricey and the more of them that I see they just seem wrong. Like Robbie says if you really want them turned on contact one of the Faultmate guys, I think Geoff travels down that way at timesCheers Ian

Cheers,
It's just my last few cars have had daytime running lights and I think they make it safer. I spend a lot of time in the South East because of work so I should be able to find someone who can help.

Get yourself a set of Phillips daylight DRL and fit em yourself for under £100 rather than £400+ OEM ones look pretty good on and are really bright
And you can have them fitted in under an hour come on with ignition and off when you turn your lights on MY18 D5 HSE LUX😎

All I wanted was for the side lights to turn on and off with the ignition it can't be rocket science, especially when it state DRL can be enabled by the steeler.
If they can't it should not be written in the handbook, or should I drive to Sweden and see if they can sort it out

Yes, on th D4 (not sure about D3) there is a small panel each side inset into the middle of the lower section of the bumper panel. It looks quite low down, though, I guess, no lower than on any other car! It has the same sort of honeycomb embossed design as the radiator grill. These come out and OEM DRLs fit in there.
