As pinhead said...
…but are you sure your battery is the root cause of the problem?
Is the alternator ok?
Was the battery properly charged?
How old is the battery?
What voltage is it showing pre and post a proper charge on a quality charger?Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

Yes well said Robbie
The alternator could be the route cause so needs checking and replacing if found faulty
But I would still put a new battery on as the total discharge usually kills the old oneClub original turbo

in here you will see a long thread about batteries, chargers, solar chargers etc.
I bought a VARTA battery yesterday that cost me a lot more than 103 pounds
but it is a different spec battery that charges faster straight after cranking the engine
i.e. i is meant for the vehicles with stop start featrure but alos meant for vehicles that have loads of electrical gizmo's
D3 have enough to qualify for this + the fact is I am fed up of "just" starting the D3BREXIT - done properly.
Right now ...We need Government - not Politics
Save the Dipstick Flagbearer-keep it simple, less likely to fail campaign-agenda items:Starting Handles, Acetylene Lamps.
Founder: Dipsticks-R-Us Inc
D3 HSE-perfectly formed, passenger friendly...has real DIPSTICK
Jag XK-but sadly no DIPSTICK...HUGE design fault
FL2 has DIPSTICK..."real comfort in rear seats"
VW Golf wondermobile (?)..has real DIPSTICK
Morris Minor..original DIPSTICK technology..and a real KEY.

In my D3 I Have a Bosh battery. it allways starts and never been changed I guess. Had an tiny issu yesterday..
5 minus outside, fired up and let it run on idle for a while. i enabled the heated windscreen to defrost.
Im not using the vehicle mutch.. the satnav screen flickered and then rebooted. then the Airbag warning lap lit up. I used the faultcode reader and loads of new codes where found all around the system. Missing a message errors..
I shut it down and went to bed. today I opened the hood and had to measure the voltage on the battery 11.90 volts.. oops.. warning laps flashed. (in my wired head) and now its 10 minus outside. I only have one hope. to put the ctech charger on and see what happens later today.
so Yeah.. The vehicle needs the best battery that you can get out there.

…and the best software?
Random issues on a D3 are not uncommon with a poor battery but your symptoms are typical for 2004 and 2005 D3s that have not had the power management software update that was issued in the UK as the 'Vehicle Enhancement Programme 2006'.
Are you sure you have all the updates on your car as given the temperatures in your country you really need them?Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948
