Dirty Back End!

Hi Guys, I'm long time reader, first time writer! Had my D3 tdv6 HSE since October and I can't get over the muck that sprays up and sticks to the back end of the car.
Have any of you seen a spoiler or the like which might help? Land Rover don't seem to make one for the D3, but they do for the RRS.... Rolling Eyes
Suggestions please.

Sorry Ed, not very constructive I know, but 'All D3's look far better when they are filthy dirty'. Don't know of anything other than perhaps mud flaps that may cut it down a bit. Wink

Nope... They have next to no effect on that... The problem is the same of cars which have that kind of back end like Espace, 807, Galaxies and so on... Wink

Bucket and sponge seem a bit old fashioned, and while filthy dirty has some merit, I just wondered if anyone had seen any mod that helped. Got mud flaps - I guess I'll just have to keep my speed down Laughing

Thanks for the near instant replies.

i could be wrong, but if I understand correctly, the problem is that the flat back end of the D3 causes a slight vacuum in its wake. The vacuum effect pulls spray onto the back surfaces of the vehicle and leaves behind a fine layer of road grime. Sad

Some vehicles have a spoiler which deliberately diverts air from over top of the vehicle into the vacuum zone, particularly models with movable window glass (keeps exhaust fumes from getting into the cabin), but I'm guessing that the result is lower gas mileage than the vacuum effect causes...
