Thermostat or watersensor. |
|
I have a problem I need to solve as it seams its getting worse with time.
When the car is cold, and I am plodding along to work in the que, the car surges as if it was on a choke.
(D3 auto 2007 91000 km / 56000 miles). I have to break hard.
Yesterday I drove from work and the temperature gauge started to rise after a few minutes of travel, them suddenly dropped off the scale, then slowly rise again a minute later to full temperature.
Is this thermostat opening slowly, then circulating warm fluid into the cold radiator ? or is my water temp sensor ?
I see it also in the mornings after a FBH warm up, sit in, ignition on, no need to wait for glow-plugs and start.
Temperature starts halfway then sinks, and starts to rise slowly.
Is this normal, haven't really used the D3 to work before in the cold.
Suggestions ? Is the gearbox ready for a flush ? May I'll just change the water temp sensor as I have one to hand.
