Lost brake fluid

Hi. Would like some views on this before I talk to the dealer.

SWMBO had the brake warning lamp illuminate yesterday. When I checked it over last night, I found that the fluid reservoir was almost empty, and I could also slowly push the brake pedal to the floor Shocked

The car is an 05, with 50k miles, and had the vacuum pump safety recall a while back. I know that it had to have a new servo at that point as well as the pipework mod.

I can't see any external leaks, or fluid down the back of the brake pedal, so I'm assuming that the servo is filling up with fluid, or it's getting sucked back into the pump.

My question is, how long is the last repair under warranty? I'm guessing I'm in for a big bill, but wondered if others had also had a second failure.

Any advice before I phone the 'stealer' gratefully received.

I would be tempted to refill with brake fluid, and pump the pedal a fair bit, just to confirm there are definitely no leaks

as Mikey suggests, check for leaks especially towards the rear of the vehicle as a few 2005 owners and newer have had rear pipes corrode and leak Shocked

It's not the end of the world. 3-4 hours labour to cut the rusty pipes out, and join in some new copper pipes Thumbs Up

Just an update now it's fixed.

I don't have a flaring tool, so vehicle has been at my local independent repairers, who I can trust to do a good job.

pipes replaced from under the front floor rearwards, with a new joint at this point. Some of the exhaust had to come off to remove heat shielding to get access.

No mud build up on top of the chassis, but several places where the protective coating had rubbed through where it is clipped to other pipes. In one place this area was badly corroded, and had subsequently burst open.

Total cost including Vat £275.70. So could probably have been worse.

Interesting observation from the repairer, that the pipes on Disco 3 are very inferior quality from those on Disco 2, which he very rarely has to replace, even though some are 10 years old plus.

Thanks for every bodies help.
