Group buy - Mineral 2 stroke oil to JASO FC specification ??
I have been using Castrol Actevo 2 T for some time now, and will continue to do so.
Prices for this oil, both from Tesco & elsewhere vary greatly, and this week I have been to two Tesco Extras & their on-site filling stations, and all no longer stock Castrol Actevo 2 T.
I am fed up with wasting time scouring retail outlets for reasonably priced Castrol Actevo 2 T or similar good quality mineral 2 stroke oil to JASO FC specification.
Site Sponsors Opie are offering Castrol Actevo 2 T at £7.45 (less forum discount) but shipping costs are added, from £3.50 via Royal Mail Tracked for 1 bottle to £4.99 for 10 litres.
I would happily buy at least 10 litres in a group buy, more if the price was right. However the price, delivered to me, or collected locally needs to be more like the recent Tesco prices.
I hope Opie (or someone else) will take the opportunity to serve the community & increase turn-over. If a deal was offered, presumably it would be offered across Martin’s web site.

I'll deliver you 10 litres of mine for £75 ?
Only dead fish go with the Flow !
I would not expect the group buy price to be near the "stock clearance" prices reported recently at various Tescos, but something around £4.80 - £5.50 per litre delivered would appeal to me, and I think many others.
I wonder whether we couldn't organise a single drop off point for our locality, to reduce delivery costs.
Nasher, Countrywide, Wiggy Man would you be up for it at the right price?

API TC, JASO FB & ISO L-EGB - Mineral, FB and £5.40 per liter delivered....
It doesn't appear to be JASO FC, otherwise unknown quality, but at least it's mineral.

Hi Nigel,
I'd go for 10-20 litres if you decide it's worth doing. No problem collecting either, let me know.
Cheers

Hi NJSS and all
Sorry to resurrect a bit of an old thread but I think this might be of interest to you in your search for a group buy potential
I got to the same point as you, fed up going in looking for pricing errors in Tesco, (can you just check the price in this is £7.50 - like it says on the shelf ) or clearance stock in Asda.
So I did some t'internet scouring and I managed to get a what I think is a great deal on 2 stroke oil and thought it had potential for a group buy. The oil is mineral JASO-FC spec and I bought 20 litres for £52.50 or around £2.60/litre - delivered. It's not big brand - Lubron, but hey, we're mixing it in diesel here not 14,000rpm japanese race replica motorbikes Small UK company - about 30 years old. you can buy it from www.alexoil.co.uk
Aside from the obvious 300 mile geographical gap, I have absolutely no connection with this company whatsoever just to be clear. But at £2.60 a litre I think this might be as close to 'Tesco' pricing that we can get with a repeatable price - even without a group buy. Hence I thought it worth putting this back in front of those of you who had previously expressed an interest in establishing a repeatable low cost source for 2 stroke

Hi
No, its the regular stuff. The pro is semi synthetic I think. I called and spoke to the guy as the website is not that clear on the spec of the regular stuff and he confirmed the mineral nature of the oil and also the spec approvals. The drum is marked up with all the specs including JASO-FC. I posted all the details in the oil buying thread.
