Thinking of running winter tyres all year

I've read most posting on this subject but still have a couple of questions.

I'm thinking of running wintracs all year but can't see much on how they perform/cope off road (rough tracks and fields) and how good in the summer. I live just north of Inverness and think we only get above 7c for about five months a year, at least it feels like that.

Or should I go for general ATs or Pirelli ATRs and live with compromise in the winter? Read in one post that Pirellis are hard to get, is this right?

Also any recommendations for suppliers up here?

Size is 255 55 19

I think I've totally confused myself at this point, Help!

We have many customers running Wintrac's all year round down in the south with no problems so would think it would work better for you. Thumbs Up Not as good off road but my customers have had no problems.

Goodyear Duratrac would maybe be a better choice up in Scotland, hard to find though.

General AT is a very good all round choice which is very popular.

Pirelli ATR is another but been pulled from sale in the U.K., if you hunt you may find.

I run GG AT2s all year - great tyre, & (not good news for Andy) they are lasting VERY well.

They are currently on 30k + miles, and looking good for c. 50k miles (sorry Andy).

Its all OK..

I have had my Wintracs on well over 30 odd k Miles

They work well in all conditions...especially heavy rain & soaked roads (standing water)......they do not aquaplane...
Thoroughly endorse Vredestein...I have used trhe M+S tyres on Volvos for years & years.
One thing they dont do is get noisly as they get worn down...some M+S tyres the tread blocks "lean over" & they sound a bit military at some moderate speeds.

I have wintracs on my disco & will renew with the same in about another 10k miles
Why the hell they arent standard fit or an option from new beats me
 BREXIT - done properly.
Right now ...We need Government - not Politics
Save the Dipstick Flagbearer-keep it simple, less likely to fail campaign-agenda items:Starting Handles, Acetylene Lamps.
Founder: Dipsticks-R-Us Inc
D3 HSE-perfectly formed, passenger friendly...has real DIPSTICK
Jag XK-but sadly no DIPSTICK...HUGE design fault
FL2 has DIPSTICK..."real comfort in rear seats"
VW Golf wondermobile (?)..has real DIPSTICK
Morris Minor..original DIPSTICK technology..and a real KEY.
