D3 20" tyre load rating

D3 20" tyre load rating

Hi,

I've just purchased a 55 plate HSE that came with RRS 20" HSE wheels, these have goodyear excellence tyres on at present which i was going to replace with some continental cross contact winter tyres that i recently purchased. The problem that i have is that both sets of tyres are 275 40 20 with a load rating of 106....am i wrong to fit either tyre to my D3 as after looking into various threads these seem to be for the RRS and i should be fitting 275 45 20 with a 110 rating?

You would be far better off fitting 275/45x20 which are as you state 110 load rating, the D3 should have a 111 load rating but many fit lower.

Hi Andy,

Thanks for the quick response, if the D4 has the option from new of 20" wheels have they lowered the load rating required or are there 20" 111 rated tyres available? I have to admit i was looking forward to fitting the conti winter tyres and seeing how well they would perform but am now undecided Confused

255/50X20 option on the D4 has a 109 load rating.

Hi Andy,

I'll be giving you a call in the morning with the possible following options;

1. GG AT 275/45/20
2. LTZ 275/45/20
3. Running the winter option all year wintrac4 275/45/20

Could you PM prices if you are in work mode Thumbs Up

Also do you take tyres in p/x or am i going to have to do the dreaded ebay.
