I have a set of tyres that I think might fit my discovery but wanted to ask if anyone can be sure if they are OK to fit first.
Originally my car was supplied with 255/50/20 tyres.
I want to fit
275/45/20 tyres.
I have this odd size left over from last winter when I was driving a VW Touareg. They are rated as extra load and the Touareg was a lot faster than the discovery so I imagine they are OK. Just the additional width and slight change in rolling radius I am concerned about.
Thanks in advance for any advice._____________

Hi Julian, been a long time.
Yes, these would be ok on your Disco as that's the size I run with my Cooper LTZ's.
But as DD states, you need to check the loading, but as you mention they're 'extra load' so don't reckon you'll have a problem there.
Thanks for the advice. These are Cooper tyres with the same tread pattern(ish) as the Goodyear M&S jobs that Land Rover put on the G4 D3s. Don't know what they are called.
The load rating reads: 1060kgs 110S Extra Load.
Does that seem OK?
I suspect that they are the same tyres you are using. So these will fit no problems? I haven't collected my D4 yet. My wife has one and I'll get proper winter tyres for her. I'll make do with the knobblies.
By the look of your photo you have a white one too? We'll have 2 white ones on our drive by the end of the month._____________

Yes, 110 load rating is fine.
If its the LTZ, it's a great all year round tyre and also great both on and off road.
So just one wheel n tyre set is all that's needed - I can vouch for that.
I went to the dark side. We had two VW Touaregs for a while. They were nice on the road, but didn't have 7 seats, couldn't tow 3,500kgs and I had to pretend I didn't notice any nice D3s / 4s towing above me at lights.
So now I'm back. 2 D4s and already got winter tyre questions!_____________

you mean the brand new £1300 Engel I lent you in near brand new condition that you returned covered in overspray and smelling like the Manchester Ship Canal?
'cos you thought I'd sell it to you at a knocked down price?
And you wonder why I greased the wheel nuts on your trailer?
You shady ******* how do you get someone banned from here?
