105K Service - Parts Removed

Recently had the big 105K service completed - requested back the belts and tensioners as interested in the condition after 105 K - pictures below show all to be in very good condition as far as I can see which surprised me given some of the horrors regarding premature failures or badly worn belts on the verge of failure previously posted. Even where the belts are joined no signs of spliting or delamination - yes I know the smaller belt looks like it snapped but dealer cut it to remove before anyone comments .... Wink

As I have had the vehicle since 13K I have no reason to suspect that they have been changed since the vehicle was new ... thoughts /comments ?

My belts were similar to yours as we're the tensioners.

However one internal part was on the point if failure and could have caused excessive wear and failure.

Like you I asked for my bits back and I posted it on here somewhere.

Comfy feeling knowing they were done tho!

Thumbs Up

Yup it is reassuring as I had been driving in the week before the service hoping and praying that nothing was going to fail Rolling Eyes .

Can't undertsand tho' why others with similar aged vehicles have had a complete failure or close call at lower mileage , what could cause such conditions for the parts to fail Confused . Mine gets its fair amount of usage so has not been nursed at all in use....

Don't think many have failed on broken belts Si, most seem to be failed oil pump case or tensioner bolt or internal engine failure of injector/piston.

I had a few pictures of belts in much worse condition than that after only 80k miles

Never seen one fail completely though

My belts too looked in good nick apart from the tensioner which after 145k miles was just a thread away from coming loose. I think the belts are all ok, it's just what hold them together that seems to go.
