Well I have read the hand book & if I'm right this is the way to change the head light direction when going abroad!

Back of the light remove gray cover, inside you will see a leaver (A) to move a slide at the bottom (B)

Have not tried it with the lights still in the car, but it would make a lot more sense!
Nick

Help! I've got my headlight out and there's nothing in the manual about WHICH WAY you move the lever A. Is it up for "drive on the left" and down for "drive on the right" or the other way round?.. Bloomin' manual doesn't say. Banging Head

Well I have to admit I have not bothered doing this for any of my trips since my first trip with the D3!
I normally take 1 to 2 trips over a year & no one has flashed me yet, but this may be that they are still in the Europe position as I had the car repatriated after my first trip! And I have never changed them back!! Shocked

I had a go at the weekend. Had to take the lights out to make the adjustment. Can't see myself doing it on the Chunnel. Most of the driving will be during daylight so I'm not bothering to change them unless Frog Plod pulls me over and tells me to.
cheers

Don't do it on the chunnel! Opening the bonnet reveals your nice hot engine to the fire detection system and they get all of a tizzy with you.

Dunc, those spanish prostitutes are something else aren't they Mr. Green

And there lies one of the most endearing things about the French, if it doesn't make any sense then don't worry about it Thumbs Up

So without sounding like a if I want to have a feel around Whistle how would I make sure i dont fry myself?! Is just having the lights off enough to stop me killing myself or do i need to disconnect them from anything? Those stickers have scared me.... Shocked

Gunna have to get my practice in so I can do it without a crisis down the ferry port!

frying yourself

I have same system on Mondeo ST Xenons. You really have to take the headlights out to flick the switch (been in BMW which had electronic switch inside cabin, thanks Ford/PAG!) but never unplug them and not dead yet!

Also, those asking about the black tape - don't put black tape on if you have xenons. They will burn a nice sticky mess onto your lenses and you'll need to buy new headlight units. The intensity of xenons is why you have to have a switch, and why they MUST have washer jets.

If you don't have xenons, you can still use tape. Its not pretty, but its a lot easier than this daft system. Anyone with the swivelling eyeball driving lights know if these are automatic/electronically switched from L->R?

So if I got a set of UK xenons this is all I would have to do to make them usable for in the US?
