Towing - need to know 12s connection details
My Disco3 ('07' HSE) has the 12N socket fitted and plugged into the standard LR wiring kit.
Trouble is the 12S has never been fitted by the previous owner(s)
Anyone know what the connections should be to the 12S socket from the LR kit (YWJ 500200)?
I have a few new 12S sockets and cable in my goodies box
Should be a simple job to make the connections if only I knew the colour codes of the wiring kit..... Cheers, Dave in Essex

Thanks Rich for a quick reply.
This really is a great diagram making it clear for connections onto the 12s socket
However, I already have this (from the caravan club) this is the easy bit
What I need to know is - what connects on the LR wiring kit?
That is to say the actual wires as supplied in the accessory kit already installed on my Disco3
Anyone any idea what the colours are for the wires on the extra little loom supplied in the the kit? Cheers, Dave in Essex

Spent a few hours last Sunday trying to find the best way of connecting an ordinary 12s socket to my existing stuff.....
Remember that the car already has a 12n socket fitted
Turned out that this is not a genuine LR kit but a cheap after market kit
.....and I didn't want to start splicing in with Scotchlocks etc. on my nice 'new' HSE
So today I have bought a complete LR kit part no. YWJ 500201 from my friends at Britcar UK
This now needs to be fitted ready to tow the tintent on Saturday - no pressure Cheers, Dave in Essex

The instruction are in the box with the kit
But the connections are in the left hand cubby hole in the boot and are plug and play unless you want the parking sensors deactivated when towing then you will need someone wih a faultmate to enable it MY18 D5 HSE LUX😎

Just fitted LR towing looms yesterday, about 2 hours to complete. Ref the re-programming, is it only to deactivate the reversing sensors, or does it affect the gearbox / suspension? Thanks.

Thanks guys for you advice so far....
Yes I already had the instructions which you can also download from the TOPix site. That's when I realised that an after market pattern part had been fitted to install the 12n socket. And yes the reversing sensors are already disabled when you plug a trailer in
Like SharkySharks I have been playing with 'Big Boys Toys' today - 44 tonne Volvo FM12 bulk grain lorry
Now I am home, off down the barn to fix the very expensive LR kit.
Will have to see if I can do it in about 2 hours like Dave P......
Interesting point about the suspension Dave. I have read that you can re programme the setting to stop the Terrain Response from adjusting with a trailer attached.
Will update y'all later when it's done.....Cheers, Dave in Essex
