Stormer 20s on D3
Hello knowledgable peeps, need to pick your brains.
I am changing the std SE 18's on my D3 today for a set of HSE 19's that I will fit GG ATs on for over winter and off roading stuff.
This morning Ive been offered a full set of genuine LR 20" Stormers that I plan to have for summer use.
First question - will they fit straight onto the D3 and will the wheels themselves have the correct load roating and offset for the D3 ?
Second question - what would be a good choice of summer road only tyre for the stormers - a sensible compromise of mileage, cost and wet weather grip.
Many thanks in advance

Reckon you won't have any issues fitting these LR stormers.
However best just to check the weight stamped on the inside of the wheel.
Best tyre IMO is the Cooper Zeon LTZ 275/45/20.
That's one tyre that gives you good on road and off road grip, no real extra noise and great in all seasons.
One wheel & trye set for everything, so no need for winter wheels.
I know .. been running this set up for years. ...... always on the road less travelled 🚧

yep, genuine Stormers go straight on.
Should (if genuine) be weight rated at 900kg, with offset of 53.
A good summer (and not to bad in winter) is the 265/50x20 Yokohama Advan ST I've used on both of my D3's. Its weight rated at 111, so OK for the D3. Not as good all round as an LTZ or Grabber AT (latest type).

Cheers for the replies both.
Ive just checked and the wheels are stamped at 900kg so tickety boo.
Need to have a look at the offset to confirm thats ok.
Awesome information as always on here...
Interesting info on the different widths and profiles - these all give quite different rolling radii to the current 255 60 18s and the 255 55 19s that I am about to chuck on....any issues with speedo cal with different tyres ?2013 Evoque

the rule of thumb is to stay with 2.5% of the original spec, and both a 275/45x20 or a 265/50x20 are within this. 275/45 is slightly below, 265/50 is slighly above. given your speedo is allowed to be up to 10% inaccurate, going slightly bigger for me brought the speedo back to what my GPS was telling me my actual speed was

Cheers Al, top advice.
Out of interest can peeps pls confirm tyre pressures both normal and fully laden for both the 19" 255 55 HSE runs and also for the 275 45 20 stormers ?
I need the laden pressures for towing our tintent.
Cheers !2013 Evoque

the presures are on the label on the drivers side door (open the door and look just down between the lock part and the bottom), and I've always run my 265/50x20s at the same pressures as for a 255/55x19 - so with twin axle tintent on the back, thats 42Psi rear and 36 front.

I have got 20" supercharged on mine with general grabber uhp's on (courtesy of ajs ) . (pics in gallery of tread pattern) I have done about 15000 miles on them now and still plenty of tread left.
I run these all year round & not had any issues in the snow are mud. There are really good for a tyre with directional tread. The mud wasn't too deep, but I got through it while a freelancer2 with Pirelli scorpions on got stuck d4 HSE in Corris Grey with Black options pack
