How To Fit Driving lamp kit (XQB500080) (modified)
Wel. I got me this kit. And i did some deep diggin on how the switch works and what it does switch.
I allmost had it correct with my friends D3. We did not have this kit then, but we wanted to do it as close to original as possible without buying the kit. Found the fitting instruction manual and had a read.
We did mount a pair of 55w xenons onto the soft nudgebar and wired them up with the relays and all the wiring ended up by the fuse box in the engine bay.
It looks like we needed to remove 2 pins and insert 2 other pins and lots of pins movin about. So I was hopin there was a way round this.
We started in the engine bay. First of, we needed to find this 2 pins plugg located under the fuse box in the engine bay. Here it is :
This has a thin wire and a thick wire. From what i now can see it that the thin wire is ment for the relay coill and the thick wire is 12v supply to the lamps.
So just a relay and some wiring and thats sorted. I did measure the thick wire and it is 12v there when you put in this 15A fuse. So now we had the spotlamps fitted and all the wring connected up to the grey LR connector found under the fusebox.
Now for the interior. Locate pin 13 on the green connector of the cjb :
Pin 13 is empty, i had the correct insert and I added a wire to it. I did measure this pin 13 and i there was 12v there. So before we got the kit, i did not dare to make a gnd connection to pin 13, cause I was unsure if this was correct or not. So when i got the kit i then checked everything, and from what i have measured, from pin 13 cjb goes on a black wire to the switch, when switch is set to ON it makes a circuit to Gnd. So there it is. you just need to insert a pin with a wire on pin 13 on the green cjb connector and connect that wire to any gnd.
Get it activated in the ccf and jobs done.

12v from the battery, 12v from main beam, 2 earths. Job done
I had a look at the wiring installation instructions, then decided I would never use the switch, so hard wired with the above method. No CCF changes needed eitherMy D3 Build Thread
