Friday Random Daft Discovery Question |
|
(sorry slow day at work... )
Was inspecting my passenger side wing mirror the other day (thought the glass seemed to be sticking out from the casing too much, but seems thats just the way they are??)
Anyway, peering in behind the mirror itself i'm sure i saw moulded into the plastic a light bulb symbol...
Do any models have lights in the mirrors?? Does Mine!? (there are so many little details i'm still learning about on these cars! )

I could be wrong, but dont think any had them - puddle lights were in the door bottoms on both my D3 & 4
Suuspect that as a lot of parts were sourced from Jag / Volvo that it could just relate to one of those?

got them on my D4, as you said, I believe they are fitted if you have surround cameras.

Could it be where the surround cameras go if you have that option?

Could be the same mount as used in the FF and sports which have the puddle lamps?? FFRR Owner, very nearly became a D3 owner
Test piloted a new D4 XS SDV6.. Gone and being forgotten i hope!!

ISTR that the Range Rover Sport had the puddle lights in the bottom of the mirrors and not the bottom of the doors, or maybe they had them in both. The same mirror was used for both D3 and RRS.

Never noticed it on the SSRR but tbh its a pointless feature unless they have bright LED's in to actually pick everything up FFRR Owner, very nearly became a D3 owner

SWMBO's Freelander 2 has them in the mirrors and under the doors, like Blackpool illuminations! I started off with nothing and Ive still got most of it left.

Cheers guys! That would explain it.
Now, I wonder if the wires for those lamps are in there...
