Non genuine Battery

Having recently replaced my battery with a non genuine version I have been experiencing a problem with fault showing on the EPB. According to LR and verified by my trusted local Indy the problem occurs as the cranking is taking slightly too long and then appearing as a fault on the EPB.

The battery has an identical spec so I dont understand why this occurs but I have taken their advise and now replaced the aftermarket with a genuine battery so we will see what happens now.. it certainly appears to start quicker.

Could have been a faulty battery

At the end of the day landrover don't make batteries they come from varta with landrover stickers on
Any premium brand battery with the same or better spec than original should be fine

Mine is getting an exide on tomorrow as it is the best price and spec
I don't currently have any low battery issues but as mine is 7 years old now and still got original battery I just want a new one for winter
Put an exide on Astra other week after its original let me down and it swings over with much gusto compared to the old one

How much was lr battery I believe you can only get the AGM battery from them now
 Club original turbo
161k and counting
general AT's, oval timer, blanked egr's, silicone intercooler hose's

That's good at least you haven't got a battery sat in the garage that's knakered and stand you at £120

Just as an aside what make and model was this spurious battery may be worth avoiding for other members although I suspect it was a 1 off faulty battery

It was a yuasa battery but MID engineering who are an excellent local LR Indy have said they've had several cases where this has occurred but they now replace D3/4 and RR with geninue batteries where possible but also use the yuasa on freelancers Defenders etc as they rate it as a battery.

hmmmm

seem to remember someone else having battery problems after fitting a yuasa battery

maybe they are not up to the large output from a d3 alternator
