What I'd need is a bike carrier that I can still use the towball to tow the caravan (so I assume this will have to be the fixed towball). What's available?

I've got one in my garage (somewhere!!!) that I used to use on my D1, but now have a D3 with a removable towbar, so it's no use to me, and potentially 'available'
It has a base plate that bolts between the towbar 'chassis' plate and the hitch, and has two square-section tubes which slide into the base plate and form a vertical shallow 'v' shape (viewed from the rear).
These tubes have a 'y' shape at the top, which allows one bike to be fitted, and there are also (somewhere!!!) a pair of 's' shaped bits which allow a 2nd bike to be fitted.
Then it's just a matter of securing the bike(s) with a bungee or three! (there's a hole in the top of the base plate for this), the tension on the bungee stops the bikes from jumping out of the carrier when you go over a bump!
You'll need longer Towbar bracket bolts (available easily from any trailer/caravan dealer or evil bay), but all the rest is in my garage somewhere!
Got to be worth £50 to somebody, hasn't it.....
PM me if you're interested. If it has TIT's or WHEEL's it will cause you problems!!
