I've consulted the owners manual and followed instructions to get front head lamps off to access lever that should switch headlamp beam direction. however the tab referred to in the owners manual doesn't appear to be where it should be in my headlamp. I believe my headlights are xenon (blueish light, thick convex lens) and appearance of the inside of the lights looks the same as depicted but no black lever.
Its really small and is on the right side of the bulb holder on the rear of the unit inside the grey lamp cover, remove the cover and look inside with torch, that said as you are in Spain they should be set to European, are you looking to adjust for UK?Altox GSM FBH controller thread

well i assumed they were xenon ( had the car 3 weeks so dont know) its an SE '05. the lights have that twitch when they first turn on sort of blueish twinge to them. does that indicate xenon or halogen? but not really driven at night to notice the difference.
race.it - you say if adaptive then simpler to change with unit off car - I've done this , fully unplugged laid on table, etc. perhaps they are halogen then? how does one know whats fitted, i'll post a pic later maybe you can tell me from that.

one way is that xenon's have a high piched hum that comes of them, if you stand in front of the car with the engine of and the follow me home lights on can you hear the lights?? I would expect them to be xenons as mine is a 54 SE and has xenons fitted
many thanks both, as i thought they are xenons but owners manual bares little resemblance to what can see in them to change the direction over. i look at next week when i'm back from trip.
cheers
ps beanie - i like those led fog lamps - can you give some more info. ta.RHD UK disco 3

I agree that its not easy to tell, I travel back the UK 3 or 4 times a year and change the lights over. The lever does not give you any indication that its in the right place. You just need to move it in the right direction (can never remember which way, buts that whats the manual is for) then on mine it tends to bounce back abit, you just have to trust it where it should be and put it all back together. You do need to get your hand in a fair way downt he side of the light to get to the lever, its not just sitting at the back behind the cover.
Some on here say they can do it with the lights still on the car, on one side atleast I have never managed to get my hand in far enough, so its always grill off, lights out, but quick enough while sitting waiting to load on the ferry or tunnel.
