Compressor help please
Hello
2 weeks ago I had a bong (suspension fault normal ride height only) car appeared to be fine, however I thought I'd do some research and see if I can fix it, reading some threads I set about removing the compressor and regenerating the silica which I did, oh and also purchased the overhaul kit which comprises of a spring a small valve and o-ring which I replaced. Assembled and problem went away for 1 day. Then the bong came back same as before. I just purchased and installed a replacement relay No 7 started car and again after 1min bong same alarm.
Im a little stuck as what to do now?
I'm sure it's a temperature issue as when it's a cold morning it takes longer to bong than on a hot afternoon.
Before the bong goes I can raise and lower the car.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated
Lee

I had something very similar, turned out that the compressor couldn't generate enough pressure to fill the tank so it was running constanly.
New compressor fitted
Luckily for you, a superceeded part has been released a few days ago which is cheaper than the old unit. And may be better 2014 D4 XS

Ooooh J@mes its looking like our Disco 3 needs a new compressor - whats this about a new cheaper part (we like cheap )
Our local garage are quoting £450.00 at the moment for the parts and labour - Given we need new pads and discs all round Big Bertha is getting pretty expensive at the moment

Had exactly the same with mine.... Fails to generate pressure and overheats. Will gradually get bong and warning light on quicker as it gets worse. New compressor sorted it a few weeks back.. no problems now.

Thanks Beanie,
Were just looking into that and it appears we actually have to break down from the fault and the engineer be unable to "get us on our way" to claim for it under the insurance, as its only on the Amber warning it is still okay to drive (although needs doing!!)
Though it sounded too good to be true

I'd have to agree sounds like a new compressor's required; I had the same, bonging after a minute, fitted the service kit, went away for a bit then came back, changed the silica beads, still the same.
Had the compressor replaced. No faults since.
The suspension still farts and levels when locking, and sometimes raises when starting, compressor runs when it feels like it. I guess that's all normal though.

It's not worth fitting the comp repair kit. I know of a few that have tried only to end up with a new comp

Thanks for the swift reply's quick update I have been following several threads about the compresor issues one guy has had the same symptoms and followed the same changes/overhauls as me . On his last thread he talks about exercising his suspension once a week meaning raising and lowering the car, he has had success with this for the last month I however haven't the car still operates fine until the bong. My next port of call is to remove the compresor and take a look at the piston with a view to make a new piston ring. Will keep you informed with my progress
