Best riding 18" tyre
What has been the best riding 18" tyre you have used on your Disco 3 ?
I have just put pirelli scorpion ATR's on and find them very rough riding after the original Goodyears.
So disappointed thinking of changing them.
The only problem I found with the Goodyears (changed at 68000km) was the noise as they got older.
But wondering if people have found something that rides better than even the Goodyears.

Very strange. My 255/55/19 Pirelli ATRs ride at least as well as the Goodyear Wrangler HPs Do you have the right tyre pressure?2012 D4 TDV6 HSE White

Best tyre I've ever had is the Mickey Thompson STZ. A really great all round tyre that rides very well. Highly recommended.

Lovely ride on both 18" & 19" ATR's in my experience over many miles. I've also used 19" Goodyear Wrangler HP's and find the ATR's better on road and off road, but no really discernable difference for comfort.
I'm also wondering if you have correct pressures.
The Pirelli Scorpion ATR has recently scooped up 1st place in the Australian 4x4 Action Magazine tyre test. Results were based on the scores awarded across a range of key areas including tyre balance, tyre noise, stopping distance, hill climbing ability, sand testing, swerve testing and a mud run.
Here's a link to read what Australian user's of the ATR have written about them:

I have run toyo's, which are very good (in my opinion) the only thing is I have found toyo's have gone very expensive at the moment.JE Remap, De-cat, Blanked EGR's, Allisport intercooler, Samco intercooler hoses, D4 rear lights, A bar, Big spot lights, Front headlight guards, 20'' Stormer wheels,

Thanks for the replies.
I have tried every pressure possible from 31psi to 42psi.
From reading on here and reading all the tyre tests I had great expectations.
I am very happy with everything except ride, handling noise etc all great.
And when I look at all the tyre tests again none seem to mention ride quality.
The ride is O.K. on very good roads but very poor on most the roads around where I live.
Would like to hear if anyone has tyres that ride better than the Goodyears.

Never had Goodyears on mine, but my Nitto Terra Grapplers are really smooth riding IMO. Not mushy but compliant if you will. Good balance between comfort and handling.17 Discovery 5 HSE Si6, Fuji White on brown | 07 LR3 SE 4.4 Java Black on Alpaca
