Irritating Satnav Safety Message

hi, I'm new to the forum, having just picked up my first LandRover at the weekend.

It's a 2009 HSE and as far as I can see everything works perfectly. But the SatNav screen is annoying me.
When it switches on, the screen asks me to agree to a safety message - every time!

The manual says you can switch this off, but I'll be bu Censored ed if I can see it anywhere. I've had a good look through the forum (pretty impressed with it too) and can't find anything there either.

Now, it's likely to be a picnic (problem in chair not in computer), but I'm just hoping one of you have some simpleton instructions that I can follow.

cheers
Dave

I can't remember ever seeing a work around for this ...you have to see it as a "disclaimer" from killing yourself while trying to switch it off on the move Smile

There must be something!

There must be something, this is the only car I've seen it one where you can't turn it off.
Seems like a crazy situation where you can't just agree to the disclaimer once and save the result.

select another screen..e.g..home. then turn off engine. will not ask when you next start
It is better to have and not need it then need and not have it.

Happy days

Great, I'll give that a go when I get back to the car.
I'm assuming it will not need me to enter the agreement when I get to the map.

Is that on the D4? OP has a 2009 which I take to be a D3.

Well, Amazing's trick worked, sort of.
It works if you just turn the car off and on again when it's set to the 4WD page, but if the car's left off for a while, I left mine for an hour, then it reverts back to "annoy the driver" mode!

I have a D3, with no tick box I'm afraid. But that might be an option, though not a cheap one, if I just updated to the 2012 disc?
