| disco 3 tdv6 no power till 1600 revs then takes off |
|
ive blocked off the egr`s it gave me more power above 1600 revs butt notting below, i only bought it a week ago and it came like
this anyone know whats wrong or are they all like this ??

did you remove the butterfly in the air intake when you blanked teh EGR's off?
colapsed inner (delaminated) on the turbo intake air hose (so when you boot it off the line it cant get enough air in??)

i done that and it made it worse, im told what it was doing when the butterfly was off is pinking not sure what that means, i cleaned the map sensor, i got it put on a computer and was told afm is working fine,
ill check that pipe it would make sense if its collapsing when the turbo not on boost

the butterfly has to be removed (or fixed wide open) if you blanked the EGRs, as if you dont, the engine cant get any clean air. I didnt think a deisel engine could "pink".

Hi guys
the EGR has to be blocked off at the EGR valves, but also at the throttle body. There are various kits on the market for this. I am using the BAS kit which is extremely well made.
After the butterfly has been removed, the linkage has to be refitted and reconnected to the stepper motor.
Just go on the BAS website, it gives all the info on how to fit. EX AFRICA SEMPER ALIQUID NOVI

George - WHY??
once the EGR's have been balnked at the bottom, the pipes can be left it, as nothing will be travelling through them. Also, either just remove the link to the stepper motor and fix the butterfly wide open, or remove the butterfly. Either way works fine, and has the same effect.

have a look into that setup and what a major flow restriction those two pipes and the butterfly pose.

well having blanked mine about 4 years ago with just the two small plates and butterfly removal, I'm quite happy to report that it works fine I was merely posing the question to the OP to make sure that they had been blanked in the correct place

sorry its taking me so long to reply, there was a leak found on the pipe coming out of the intercooler its fixed now but its worse and its smokey now and there isnt a burst of power at 1600 revs now any one have any ideas on what it could be ??
