Petrol POI on Sat Nav

Well having finally got the POI's to appear on the Sat Nav when the fuel warning light was on, after filling up they would not disappear. Logical function would be that exactly as the warning light went off so the POI's would disappear, but no this is a high tech Disco 3, so they stayed on!!

Nothing seemed to make them go & tank now full of 19 gals of diesel. No help from the manual. Then a brain wave - if in doubt just ask nicely!! Wink

No, I didn't phone LR CS, I switched on the voice system & said "Navigation POI off" while driving along and what happens, the petrol station symbols disappear!

Now I am not sure if that is what you are meant to do, but it worked & will do until LR sort out an automatic means of removing them!

Anyone know how to manually cause the POI to disappear without using voice? And, how do you get them back!! - I tried saying "Navigation POI on" but it was having none of it!! Very Happy

Hi,

Well the bad news is that they should turn off when the fuel light goes out (after filling the tank)

However, in answer to your question, if you touch the map display, a series of buttons apprear at the bottom of the screen one of whic is the quick POI button.
Press that an there is a row of 4 places for POI symbols (petron stations would be in one), a button to delete and options to turn on whatever you want from a menu of POIs.

You turn them off using the POI delete

Anyway, thats what I remember Smile

Good luck. I have had troubles with auto petrol stations not working and still suffer from being unable to select north up.

You can say "Navigation Gas Station" to display them. Try this; "Navigation I'm Hungry", and it brings up Restaurants!!! How cool is that!!!

I personally like "Navigation Go Home"

Thanks DiscoMad - yes, found how to activate POI on screen - it only seems to work with the single screen view. Gareth - thought my leg was being pulled - but yes "Navigation I'm Hungry" does bring up restaurants!!! - any other voice recognition tips that members can share? or indeed suggestions for "Navigation ......." that we might like LR to add (remember Martin is moderating this forum!! Laughing )
