Wheel locking nut key missing
Hi I have mislaid my locking wheel nut key
What I would like to know are there many types,it's a genuine Landrover one.
I can't see any letters on it like my Defender one has.
Thanks Ash
I think there is a key for all letters A-F, local dealer should have spares available.
Genuine LR have 3 notches in the outside of the rim, at least mine did before they failed and I ended up binning them Altox GSM FBH controller thread

Get them removed and replaced with non locking nuts.
I had the cap on one split and spin so I couldn't have removed the wheel if I got a flat.
Never again.

as has been said, take em off, you try jacking a D3 without being in off road height (ie if somone wanted to nick em), you'd not have a jack long enough.
more chance of yer spare wheel going missing

Bin them.........fecking pain in the backside.
We keep every key in stock as so many go missing but end up having to spend lots of time cutting the knackered ones off.

I had the same problem a few months back.
There are about 20 different combinations. "A" to "S" ?
After trying all the D3 owners I know with no luck I went to my local dealer who had a complete set of 20 for me to try.
Luckily mine was an "A". They then sold me it for about £6.00.
I have now replaced them with normal wheel nuts.

yep, locking wheel nuts are a nightmare
early LR's they would stamp the code on the outter of the bolt but then anybody could see what it was and be able to select the right nut and presto, removed wheel
now LR put a code on the security card in the owners h/book
best way to get over is drive to dealers and try each of the workshops locking nuts till one matches then buy that coded version
you can imagine the hassle though if you have a puncture in the middle of nowhere and cannot move the vehicle so most guys replace with standard nutsTLO has left the building.......
I no longer work for a Landrover Dealer
