EPB or just brakes - perfect timing !

Off on holiday tomorrow and this happens !

Having had car parked up for 3 hours on returning and pulling away noticed a screeching noise from what seemed both front wheels. The noise was there when brake pedal not applied and only went away once car was above 20 mph. It returned on slowing and especially when brake pedal applied.

I have had new brakes all round in last year, new wheel bearings and bushes.

Not sure if this is dreaded EPB failure waiting to happen or a brake problem..
Any ideas appreciated as I am supposed to leave in morning !

Thanks

Steve

if its coming from the front it wont be the EPB - that works off shoes on rear drums/hub.

are any of your wheels getting hot after a good drive. could be sticking caliper or just squeeky brakes

jack the wheels off the ground and check for top to bottom movement - does the wheel feel loose, if so could be wheel bearing. they can create a squeeking sound if failing. hopefully its not that as you would need to get them done straight away.

If I'd known I was going to be so thirsty this morning I'd have drunk more beer last night.
