Engine system fault

Hi guys, I've driven up to Glasgow in my
05 hse tdv6
The system fault comes up on the dash when I start up,
It is running with reduced power and loads more black smoke,
I need to get the 240 miles back home,
Will it be ok to drive?
Is it worth disconnecting the battery to see if it clears?
Any help would be appreciated
Cheers Ezz

Sounds like a turbo hose has split

I've had this fault message pop up too on my 06 plate. A month ago I got the car MOT'd and then left the car standing for a month whilst I was away working. My missus came and picked me up from work, a trip of about 17 miles. When I got in the car to drive it the fault message appeared. It seems sluggish to me, but then it could be my imagination as I've not driven it for a month. We have had rain of biblical proportions whilst I have been away. I'll check my turbo hose, but I've not noticed any excessive smoke!!! Any other ideas anyone? Thanks in advance Very Happy

Had it hooked up to a code reader, the Fault code is P132B - Turbo boost control A Performance. I believe it could either be a sensor or the actuator arm has seized due to it standing for a month. It is a bit lazy at low speeds at the mo! Sad

Actuator arm. You may get lucky and be able to free it off for now. Use lots of penetrating fluid and work it up and down Thumbs Up

Right, I've got my head stuck in my front n/s wheel arch and taken the silver heat shield thingy off! I can see some of the turbo. Can I get to the actuator arm from here? From what I can work out the bit where the arm is shound be next to the engine block!!! Am I right??? Help Disco_Mikey Bow down Bow down Bow down

If you remove the battery, and tray, you can access it with a long magnet and work it back and forward.

You can access it through the side, and also from underneath, but from the top is probably easiest if you can get it moving

Right, I've got the car in bits and sprayed plenty of GT85 into the abyss behind the turbo.

There is a rod which looks like No 6 on the diagram below! Is this what I am looking for? I't doesn't move freely but I'm not trying that hard as I don't know what direction I should be moving it in, or how far it should be moving.

Once I've sorted it, there will be piccies! Mr. Green
