22" chrome rims for LR3

I saw 22" Chrome Rims for my 2008 LR3 SE v6 4.0L on ebay. will they fit. According to the guys selling it if you dont have brembo brakes they should fit without spacers.

Ohh eh, you are serious?
Just teasing.

Well lots of us have 20", so you can go over 19".
And if I recall I did see some Hawke tuned cars with 22". Width is a greater concern. 285 and wider will rub.

If you go for this option then don't forget to put some piccies up here. Thumbs Up

Canada 2008 LR3 4.0 V6 Petrol SE Auto Stornoway GreyLR3

I have 2008 LR SE v6 4.0L which came with just navigation. I am looking to make some upgrades to my rover. Here is what I want to do.

Chrome out (Already Own these parts. All from eBay)
Front Grille ($230)
Door Handles ($30)
Washer Jets ($25)
Vent ($78)
Hood Letters ($28)
Tailgate Lift ($71)
Mirror ($54)
Window Pillar Posts ($44)
Dual Chrome Exhaust ($40)
License Plate Frame ($18)

Need to buy:
Door Sill Plates ($46 haven't purchased yet)

Additions (Already own these parts)
Rear Camera attached to NAV. (Bought camera off eBay and the connector from Disco3 website to OEM NAV. Cost about $35 for parts)
Rear Parking sensors attached to tail light (Bought from eBay. Want to connect it to the rear tail light and beeper I want to put somewhere near the driver so its easy to hear. Cost $15 from eBay)
Front Parking Sensor with switch at front console (The beeper for this one is separate and next to rear parking sensor beeper. Its activated if you turn the switch on on the console. The switch and parking sensor cost me $15 from eBay)
Parrot CK3100 Bluetooth Kit (Bought a used kit with harness for LR3 for $93 from eBay)
Steering Wheel Radio Control with Telephone. The previous didn't have Bluetooth buttons since car didn't come with Bluetooth so I ordered a new switch from Land Rover Saskatoon. ($120)
Rear Ladder for access to roof. ($228)
Running Boards ($500)
Headlight Grill Black ($91)
Tail Light Grill Black ($72)
Remote starter. Got it installed at BestBuy and they need to fix it since it doesn't work anymore for some reason.
Overhead DVD player with connection lead out for PS3. The DVD player is working but the PS3 connection is not and this was installed by Bestbuy so need to take it back to them to get it fixed. ($2000 with all parts and labor for overhead DVD and remote starter)

Need to buy:
- Traxide Dual Battery Kit with Optima Yellow Battery ($480 including battery)
- 22" Chrome wheels to match the rest of car. They come with All-Season tires installed with Land Rover TPMS. The tires all completely balanced and fitted and also comes with all wheel nuts and the whole package. My current tires should last me this summer and spring so next year when I need to change them I'll buy these rims and tires ($2200 is what I was quoted for)
- Beige Overhead DVD to match the ceiling carpet color. The AV/AUX output will be connected to the AV/AUX distributor and one input will be connected and wired into the back so it can be used for game consoles.($120)
- 4x DVD Headrests (Black to match seat color) and connected to an AV/AUX distributor. The AV/AUX out from Overhead DVD will connect to the input of the AV/AUX Distributor so one channel on the DVD headrest will show whats on the overhead DVD player. So it can be used individually and all at once.($400)
- Low Profile Roof from voyagerracks.com. ($1400)
- Need to buy an IDS VCM tool to change the CCF file so i can use Sat NAV while on the move and also enable Rear View Camera)

All the prices are in Canadian Dollars. Only problem is I have never done any work on any car before in my life but seen lots of instructional videos and also have the LR3 manual on hand. Just need the time now to make my dream car.

The Roof and Wheels will definitely finish off the exterior look. The interior would look great when I have the new Overhead DVD and 4 Headrest DVDs all set up with a PS3 inside the car. The chrome goes really well because it makes the car shiny, but you have to keep it clean. The parking sensors and rear view camera will make the car much easier to park and the Bluetooth function will really help by reducing chances of getting a ticket ;)

your main problem with going to 22" rims is I've not seen a tyre in that size thats has a high enough wieght rating for the D3. OK, over the pond you have some much bigger 4x4's, so you may have a better chioce then we do here in the UK.

never thought about load capacity. here are the Venezia tires.

http://www.veneziatires.com/crusadehp.html

If I go for 255/30R22 they seem to have the highest load rating. Will it work?

Those tires don't meet LR requirements. They advise 940Kg per corner. At 690Kg you are heavily underrated.
This could cause insurance issues in case of an accident. You might want to check this first.

Technically speaking: 4x690=2760Kg is enough to carry your car but, imho not enough tolerance and you should not risk it.

ye just realised they are not made for SUVs. The SUV version of these tires still don't meet requirements :/

255/30x22 seems very small for a D3. I would have thought you needed something closer to these (in terms of size)

305/35-22 4.2in 15.2in 30.4in 95.5in 663 1.2%
295/35-22 4.1in 15.1in 30.1in 94.7in 669 0.3%

the rule of thumb is to have a tyre thats is withing 2.5% of a standard tyre (in thi case a 255/55x19 is a stock fit tyre), and these two sizes are quite close. I'm not saying they will fit without rubbing. I have run 295/45x20s on an 2005 without issues, but on later modles (after 07 I think), part of the chassis changed at the back of the front wheel wells, so I think thi size would rub.

I used to run 22"overfinch wheels on my previous D3 but as Al cope says the tyres are a problem. I managed to find some that were suitably weight rated but they were a make i had never heard of (think they were acchilles desert hawk or something similar??)

Toxxic,

Look - I can't tell you what to do. You have in your mind that you want what you want, but the "Chromed Out" look really dosent sit European vehicles well. Same goes for BMW and Audi. Harleys and big american luxury cars and suvs perhaps. I know that a lot of Rappers and Footballers were doing it during the craze, which lasted from about 2001-2006. But even they have moved on.

I realize that not everyone wants to go off roading in our Rovers. For a nice street look, Marsie's Overfinch wheels above are fantastic. I've also seen great results with the larger Range Rover Sport wheels since it's essentially the same vehicle. Turns heads, and flash without being tacky.

And not wheel related, but why the 4 dvd headrests when you have the overhead monitor? it it just for the 2002 era "look ladies, I have a bunch of video monitors" effect? a decent sized central monitor will cover the rear seat passengers just fine.

Really, it seems that you are a younger guy trying to turn your LR3/Discovery 3 into a 2003-2004 "Blingmobile" on "Dubs". No offense, but that ship sailed a long time ago. The LR3 has a ton of unique capabilites, and is an amazing vehicle that truly is like nothing else. The off-road capability is perhaps greater than any factory vehicle out there (except maybe the Jeep Wrangler and the Ford Raptor), and no other vehicle gives you the same level of comfort, spaciousness, and utility. The Range Rover Sport is essentially the same vehicle, but sacrifices a lot of room and utility for slightly nicer interior trim and slightly sleeker cosmetics. It really has no equal, and it dosen't need to be dipped in chrome and rhinestones to "shine"!!!
