Canada 2008 LR3 4.0 V6 Petrol SE Auto Stornoway GreyLR3

ye i don't really use this car for off-roading but since it gets upto -50 here in canada and snows a lot this vehicle is a really good and safe vehicle for the winters here. I wanted to install 4 headrests for long journey through north america that i'm planning next year with the family. with the ps3 connected it should would be great fun on long journeys when everyone has there individual screens for games or movies. Also going to install a roof rack so we don't have to put our luggage in the car.

With respect the last thing you want in the way of wheels in ice & snow are 20" bling wheels.

You need 17" or 18" with GG AT tyres or similar.

well - you can get the lastest Grabber AT's in 275/45x20, and VRedstein Wintracs in the same size, and Cooper LTZ's even bigger, so you can run 20" alloys with some decent spec winter capable tyres.

The whole "bling" thing is not my taste, I'm very anti-bling to be honest, and really favour the stealth look that suits the D3 down to the ground in my opinion, so with that in mind I understand your need to personalize "your" vehicle and at the end of the day you're paying the bills for it so its up to you what you do. Different strokes for different folks and all that.

I have 20" wheels on my D3, and there are plenty enough winter weather/combination tyres out there that I dont lose any sleep with the fact that it may snow and I wont get stuck ....... at the end of the day for me, if the weather is bad enough to cause issues with a disco fitted with 20" wheels, I wont be going out in it at all, not for the sake of the vehicle not managing, but for the sake of the other nuggets out there who cant control their vehicles.

£10 to tint the rear lamps is waaaaaaay better than those Christmas tree lights that hang off the back of so many cars these days.

My intentions are to personalize my car with anti-bling:

Rear light tints ... Done
Window tints .... Done
20" RRS wheels .... refurbished in dark grey
Grey grills to match wheels

and thats about it ..... I have a sheet of carbon vinyl that a friend suggested I wrap the 'H' (?) piece in the centre of the centre console with, and after seeing the piano black one on here I must admit I'm tempted, but having too much fun driving it to bother with that for now.

Hmmmmm ! Thats my approach......... Anti Bling !

Can you post pictures of rear lights ?
You might also be interested in the fly eye film for the front lights ?

There was a post on here some weeks back and again not to everyones taste but its different !

I've PM'd Martin with a request for some DISCO3.CO.UK stickers in 3M Stealth Black reflective tape, 8)

Granted not easy to spot but at night Whistle

Its the fly eye rear light tint kit I have fitted, took about 15 minutes per light, makes no difference to the lights showing up when used and just takes that 1980's bright red out of play enough for me to think it suits the car so much better ...... there is rather a lot of bright red plastic on those light clusters after all.

It took all of a minute to remove the lights, clean and prep them, and the fly eye kit is super easy to use as long as you take the time and follow the youtube instructions. I removed the lights to have the film folded around every edge and out of the way and its works a treat.
I'll try and upload the picture that game me the inspiration to do it as I'm away from home now at work.

Thanks ElKompaAndres ...... I bought 2 pieces of 45 x 50cm Black #1 from flys Eye Uk at £9 for the pair, and as I said, the fitting could not have been easier.
