The sensors are behind the rear view mirror and in the dash ISTR.
No idea how you test them thoughMark.

I think there are some sensor tests in the hidden diagnostic menu. Not sure if you can test that particular sensor in there, but it might be worth a look.
One other thought. I had a friend who had a problem with his auto lights, but only after he had his windscreen replaced. Check if it has a Land Rover symbol on it somewhere. If not, it is likely to have been replaced and possibly with a faulty sensor. You could always go back to the windscreen company if you knew who they were?

Automatic lights
Here in Hungary we must use the lights outside of city all the time. The sensor only turns on when it is dark.
If the sensor is closed - will this work, or I will get a system error after a while?
could give a bit more comfort instead to turn on/off daily several times.
if this is glued can I just palce in between the glass and sensor a small paper to cover it and fix it back?

Why don't you just get DLR activated - it will switch on the lights automatically once you start the engine - and you do not need bother with switching on/off. It can be activated either in LR workshop or by someone with Faultmate.

Problem solved.
Started with the fuse and found that fuse 18 was missing. Got a new 5amp fuse and all working.
Now to trouble shoot why the front PDC is inactive
