There is only one way to go mate and that is with a proper re-map. Talk to pete at Bell Auto Services. He is a site sponser and his product is first class. Many people on this forum will agree. Remember though, You only get what you pay for!

I've only found one problem with the re-map.........

I keep getting a sore face from grinning all the time.

Do It...........It's a transformation.

cheers guys.
but question with the remap..! when you take the car for service you cant remove it..!
will land rover dealer not be able to see you've remapped it and would this not invalidate the warrenty.
at least with the plug and play you can remove before servicing.
Whats the typical cost of the mentioned remap though?

The dealer cannot read that you have a remap with his diagnostic tool.

However, if he drove it, he would notice a slight increase in power should we say. Laughing

It is possible to buy a programer to allow you to upload which fuel map you would like, so if you want to send the car to service, then you flash it to standard, and when it comes back you can flash it to tuned again.

Bell Auto Service can help you with this interface, it will also act as a faultcode reader for the Engine.

Alive tuning and blue fin ?? have similar products.

You can with the BAS remap, in fact you are advised to do so in case the dealer updates any software that will affect the remap.

You have the remap interface in which both the original and modified map are stored, then you simply connect to the OBD post and select what map you want to upload to the car. Thumbs Up

have just checked the BAS website.... why is it so expensive (£595)? I've looked at the blu fin (superchips) version and this is a fair bit cheaper at £395. Is this because the blu fin is a 1 time only deal and the BAS is as many as you like..? or just that the BAS version has different maps?

I think it's quite simple really.

Pete Bell @ BAS is very responsive, and every map he does is bespoke for the customer.

I had two "tweaks" on earlier Discoveries before buying my D3. I researched the market & opted for BAS & have never regretted it.

I would take advantage of the group offer before it expires!

Just to echo what the others have said. I was sceptical about paying so much for a remap. I signed up for the group buy, and within three days had the remap in the D3. Its a totaly differant vehicle. Also to further echo, echo echo echo, (sorry) you can take the BAS remap off the car in seconds for visits to the dealer, and put it back on in minutes when you get it back. I dont know what took me so long to do it.
Man with no D3 anymore, but cant leave the forum....how sad.

Did my BAS remap (asked for torque not pure bhp) and blanked my EGR's with Pete's kit - now a different drive. No flat spot, improved mpg, and now confidently gets away from a standing start like the proverbial s**t off the shovel.

Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Can you share with me the result of the remap? like the difference is accelarating, fuel consumption.
I'm more curious in gaining some extra power from 60 - 80 Km/h to 120 - 140 kmh than 0-100..

Sharing results won't be much use to you.

Pete Bell writes the map to your specifiation; if you are interested call him & discuss your requirements.

Good luck.

Some things cannot be quantified in any numerical terms.

An improvement in MPG or BHP is for example entirely dependant on how you use and apply your right foot and the condition of your vehicle.

At best you can only really judge things comparitively in a general way, and generally speaking you really cannot deny that BAS remaps are the most significantly noted and most highly recommended.

Most provide a solution based upon copying others and if all you want is mostly good enough then this will do, but Pete is a true artist that does all his own work and truly provides only 100% tailored solutions.

No matter what the cost, i have yet to meet anyone who was not absolutely and totally 100% satisfied with the results BAS provides.
