As you know Geoff, i really ain't nobodys fool when it comes to this kinda thing.
I got a remap off Pete for my elderly 2005 D3 and whilst it was generally a vast improvement, it was not what i would call amazing.
I mentioned this to Pete and he told me with absolute conviction that the problem was that i had crap blocking my intercooler and a blocked Air filter. Yea right i thought!!!
But i did look and sure enough i discovered a dead bird and all its feathers along with countless leaves and other crap that was blocking probably 30% of the intercoolers intake, and my Air filter did indeed look more like a bit of old carpet that had seem many better days. A simple clean up and mini service later, i really did discover what can really only be described as "amazing"
A few days later however, i also discovered smoking on hard acceleration.
I also paased this by Pete, who, with exactly the same convition and matter of fact tone informed me there was a split in my intercooler hose.
Sure enough, next day, i found all 3 inches of it.
Pete is not clair voyant, he simply has vast years of accumulated knowledge and experience that you can only ever get by being on the front line and knowing your stuff inside out.
My D3 may be a heavy Diesel, but for all the world it now really feels alive, ready to go and every bit as perky and capable as some injected petrol engined GTI.
You just cannot put a comparitive figure on that IMHO

I agree with all that has been said about Pete and BAS - re map has transformed my D3 and with the addition of a Allisport 'fast road' intercooler

it feels positively sporty when you push on through the revs. Don't expect any improvement in MPG without effort.
Well worth the cost and you do get your moneys-worth from Pete both in terms of product and service.

Yep that is also absolutely true, in fact i think it is almost impossible, especially at the beginning, to not constantly use and enjoy the extra power you will now have. But it is amazing that you have that extra power without any increase over the MPG you previously had.
In some ways i was lucky in that not long after getting my BAS remap, that there was a fuel shortage here in Cyprus. It actually only lasted a week but could have been far longer. So i was forced to put some effort into driving as frugally as i possibly could. Thats when i also got to see the possible MPG improvements too and they were equally as impressive as the power gains.
Amazingly, if your need is economy over Power, Pete will hapilly produce you a special Economy based remap.

In my case, it was actually the service far more that the product that ultimately benefitted me the most.
