Rear tailgate wont unlock

I have a problem with the rear tail locked /jammed .
The emergency unlock procedure does not work how do I open the tailgate to find , can hear solenoids moving but still wont unloc.

That will be the cable snapped then, there is plenty on here do a search for upper tailgate

Yep, if you can hear the solenoid operating but the upper tailgate doesn't release, the cable has very probably snapped. Remember this: The release cable for the upper tailgate is located inside the lower tailgate. Wink

If you press the release switch and nothing happens but you can release the tailgate by holding the lock and unlock buttons on the dash, then your rear tailgate switch has failed and is probably corroded.
