I'm having a bit of bother from my ashtray.
It seems to open up when I corner, which wouldn't be a problem if I wasn't changing up a gear after the corner, and distracted by the damned thing trying to shut it when still driving.
Anyone else have this experience?

Yes, unfortunately don't know how to resolve apart from epoxy 
Seems worse in the hot weather (sorry I forgot you posted from Arbroath  ) but the slightest knock or look and it pops. And then it's push, hold, push, swear, swerve, swear, push, hold until it understands whose boss, i.e. it stays open 
As a non-smoker it's really annoying  and all my junk that accumulates in that pit area doesn't help...I almost think she has a point
