Headlamp washers/auto wash/wipe cycle

Have noticed that
1 headlamp washers aren't working at all
2 when I press wash I only get as long as I hold the button(whereas I am sure I used to get a couple of seconds of screen wash and a few wipes as long as the "low screen wash was not displayed)
3 low screen wash does appear when appropriate which is when I would expect the above symptoms to prevail.

I have tried emptying and refilling bottle a few times to see if that would cure and also checked fused link to no avail. Anybody had similar or throw any light on it?

Deffo shoud get shush then wipe for 3 or 4 after releasing the button, lights on or not. Not that you need screen wash down in deepest darkest Cornwall with all that rain, or are you believing the propoganda re summer being on the way?? Whistle

Headlights have to be on and headlamp washers work every 5th windscreen wash not every windscreen wash and will not work at all if there has been a headlamp wash within the previous 10 minutes.

Get someone with a FaultMate and VE1.30 to connect up and check it all out.

Thumbs Up

Well with the help of Paganuk we determined that the relay was working so got into the washer bottle to find that the pump was seized. Managed to free it off and it now works Very Happy Amazed it hadnt blown the fusible link as when we connected via a couple of wires to the battery it cooked the wires and burnt my fingers Big Cry

sounds like you need a new washer bottle and two new pumps.... perhaps some new pipes and washer jets as well Whistle Whistle

I have a D3 without headlamp wash and have just run out of wash fluide without any low level warning.
Is this warning only installed in cars with headlamp wash? And could I activate it with the faultmate by changing the headlamp wash entry to fitted? Or ist the low level sensor not installed in tanks without the headlamp wash?

Thanks for any thoughts
