Do I need to remove the panel where the wipers are to see this? or is it inside?

Take a look to the following link: http://www.disco3.co.uk/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=4550
Since you don't have sunroof, your potential root cause could be water through the air inlet. If you remove the panel you will see this:

That is the air inlet where water is probably getting in, that was my problem. Given that the plenum chamber of my D3 is some what deformed and I can not get a 100% water tight between the plenum chamber and the glass, I simply sealed the bottom half of the air inlet with premium grade aluminum tape (very strong and heat and weather resistance). Following picture shows the detail.

It was nearly 8 months and car still dry. A new plenum chamber may resolved the problem but here in the tropics with hot sun and heavy pours almost every day, that solution will probably last a few months, and this only cost me 1 hour of my time and 2 beers for my neighbor who supply to me the tape. Thumbs Up

Water in foot well

Hi
Have just joined forum. I had same problem with water in foot wells. In the end the problem was the drain from the air con. This is on the drivers side look to your left leg and there is small carpet panel on side of central console, pull this off and there is a rubber pipe going down. Prise the top of this nod if this is the problem there will be water come out, if so put disco on a ramp and look underneath up towards front and on each side the will be the drains these will be blocked with dust etc. keep engine running and turn air con to low wiggle the ends of thes pipes and moisture should start to come out. To dry interior best to lift carpet and also side strips as there is a well that runs front to back which will be full of water, lift carpet up and put fan heater in for a day or so.
Hope this helps.

hi

i have been having the same problem. Checked sunroof drains and they are fine (ends were cut off ages ago).
The rubber strip on the scuttle plate that then seals against the window, seems to be distorted a little way in from the A pillar at either end so is not sealing properly.
Stupid question but is this normal or likely cause of leak?

Thanks

Paul

could also be water draining from the air con, check the rubber pipes either side of the front of the transmission tunnel, in the footwell.

Great info I will check this tomorrow. Finally got all the common faults shorted this week and the car is running fab now.

I have changed the suspension compressor, tried to refurb a spare one and that failed so bought a new one.

Fitted the EGR bypass, what a diffrence, car now doing 26mpg around doors Smile not 23mpg

Fixed the remote fob problem, using the great wiring links on here!!! if you haven't done, worth the 30 minutes to replace, will save a problem later

Hi,
New to Forum (officially) after dipping in and out for info etc.
I had this problem with water ingress and was found to be an incorrectly sealed Windscreen. After checking sunroof drains etc. Insisted on window fitter using plenty of mastic following a stone chip incident and that cured the problem. But it looks like there's a "number" of ways people have experienced these symptoms. At least the "wet dog" smell has now gone...
