It might be the Locking motor
it might be the Locking Wire.
It might me the Locking mecanism.
It might be an electrical fault.
If you put your ear on the diesel flap. and press the lock button on the remote..
Do you hear any sound from it?

Hi
think that may mean the locking pin is not moving
the wire is moving away from the pin rather than the pin moving to lock the flap.
you have to get behind the panel in the boot. good luck. Transit! 2019

To get behind Rear panel isnt that difficult.. I bet Wiggs here has that info in the gallery..
My car is a Cmmercial so no problem accessin the screws. If I remember correctly therer is 2 I think.. one by the rear seatbelt behind a cover.. Need a long screw driver to get to it.
once that is out, you have to remove the D pilar, the one with or without Speaker, Depends if you have PP or not. I dont.. so no wire for speakers there..
Then you have to remove the shelf. grab it by the vents towards the windows and pull it towards you a bit and then a 90 Degree up.. then everything should be easy to remove. use a flash light and look inside. there you will spot the locking motor and the wire..
Good luck...
