| SatNav & Voice Control now working |

I'm probably the last person on Earth to find out about this but just in case I'm not...
My SatNav screen came up with message "Not Map DVD" and satnav wouldn't work.. (have had similar in past but always worked after a bit) Also discovered that voice recognition wouldn't respond. (pulled voice switch - nothing happened, no beep, nothing.)
Removed map DVD today, thorough clean (with screen cleaner & spectacles cloth) Hey presto, SatNav AND voice control back on. Presume they're connected in some way.

Yes bud voice is through the multmedia sat nav unit.

I've got voice control ( but got to admit, it's pretty hopeless and probably just a gimmick ) but don't have factory sat nav.
Does this mean I have a multi media unit hidden away somewhere???  Mods:
Front Fogs + Halos
FBH Remote Control
The 1st Ever RRS Modded Grill
Garmin Nuvi + D4 Surround + Reversing Camera.
D4 Steering Wheel.

I do have some common phone numbers programmed into the voice thingy - which works well. Much to the amusement of the kids when I use it to phone home  Mark.

I'm pretty impressed with my voice control - can retune radio or skip tracks on CD as well as phone. Haven't tried using it with satnav yet though. Main thing is I had to learn not to shout - especially when it didn't understand 1st time.

I have voice control but no Bluetooth fitted, don't think much of the voice control to be honest for all it does you do it quicker with your finger.
I am thinking of getting the phone buttons fitted the module and the mic, would voice control work with these or would it need to be enabled.
And what would happen to the volume button that's already on the right hand side if you change for the phone buttons?

Voice control of the phone will work
You don't need a mic as you already have one
You would need the phone module enabling though .
Volume buttons are still there G4 Gone ...but not forgotten
