New front wishbones

Hi guys
Looking for a bit advice really
My friendly mot tester picked up on my front wishbones rear bushes being worn (disco 3)
So I ordered new arms genuine lr ones fitted the os arm today
And it has as much side to side movement as the old one!
I'm wondering if these bushes have a fair amount of side to side as standard
Because the old ones had no knocks or wobbles
Any thoughts on this
Cheers
Alan

Side to side movement.. Can you be more specific .. there should be no movement from the bushes once they arm is fitted, did you use new bolts and did you mark the position of the bolts and set to the correct height measurement before you did the final torque loading.

Flack Thumbs Up

The rear bushes on a D3 are open-voided bushes, and as such, there will always be side-to-side movement.

I have lost count of the amount of MOT stations I have argued with over the amount of "allowable" movement for a test...
One of the stations we used to use tried to fail a car for excessive movement, despite the car having just had a set of brand new wishbones fitted Rolling Eyes

As a general rule, if you dab the brakes quickly, and there is a clunk, chances are it will be wishbone bushes Thumbs Up

Thanks guys
The cars going for an alignment check so I've set the. Ew bolts roughly
Where the old ones were
As you say open void rubber bushes and obviously the old ones
Are ok as the new one I've fitted is the exact same
O well I'll fit the ns as a matter of course now but I think I'll find
A new mot guy in future
A lot of expense that wasn't required

On a side note do yous do mots Mikey ?
Might youse yourselfs in the future as I'm sure we have an account
With yourselfs (mts recovery)
