Rear latch not working

Got referred here from another board...new here,1st time posting
My rear latch won't open. The release still clicks, but won't open. I checked the switch under the plastic cover, no issues, corrosion, etc. I have heard this is related to the cable and it's only fixed by the dealership breaking the door open to fix. Any ideas??
