Low front suspension PROBLEM PLEASE HELP

HELP

just had our car for under a week now, and i raised and lowered the suspension on flat ground just having a play,

the car came back up at the back really quickly as normal, but the front is struggling to lift and now looks low,

i had a message come up saying that the system needs to cool down? is this just me playing to much

but now the car looks a tiny bit lopsided, and either high at the back or low at the front,

will it all level out? or has the compressor gone?

it now says suspension raising slowly??

Hi olly_love

Welcome to a great forum.

It sounds like you have a air leak somewhere at the front, maybe a airbag in the front suspension. That make the compressor have to run more often to compensate to keep it up. You will need to get it sorted as it will kill the compressor! Thumbs Up

It seems to be ok now but does drop a little hen we turn the car Off so I'm assuming it has some kind of purge valve
I'm going to drop it in to harwoods tomorrow just to see what they say

It is normal to get the suspension raising slowly message, it occurs when the air reservoir is exhausted, and the compressor alone is raising the car. The reservoir holds enough air to cycle the car from normal, to access, to off road, back to normal, to access again, then you will start to see the message.

The compressor takes about 2 minutes to recharge the reservoir (will be longer of you keep raising and lowering) If you repeatedly do this, then the compressor will eventually overheat and shut down. If it overheats and shuts down easily, then it may be on its way out. I have never got mine to overheat in this country. It did once in Morocco at an air temp of 45 degrees C!

It's also worthwhile whipping the compressor cover off to make sure it's not full of crud inside, an extra layer of mud around the compressor acts as insulation and could make it overheat more quickly.

If you've not already found it, the compressor is bolted to the outside of the chassis rail just in front of the passenger side rear wheel, (assuming RHD,) with the cover accessed from beneath, expect to find some seized/rusted M6 bolts though Rolling Eyes
