Hi

Did you find the procedure to remove the trim and operate the cable manually?

Andy

Hi Andy,
Yes I did.
And eureka I got the trim off and I have finally found a job that my dainty hands are good at. The instructions were superb and managed to grab the cable and get some pliers on the end of it.
Pull and the boot opened.
As suspected the actuator cable not connected to the unit.
My only decision now is how to fix. Whether I go for DIY Allen key fix or if there's a part I can get from lr?
Quite a sense of achievement to work this one out.
Good on the forum yet again!!!!
Thanks,
Keith

Ended up not being able to chop the allen key down in size so ended up using a spare bike gear cable with end stopper. see piccie below;

Checked it out and it works a treat. Lets see how long it lasts. Attached a bit of string to make it a little easier this time.
Now sitting down with beer in celebration mode. The dog can go to the forrest tomorrow..
Thanks again,
Keith

United Kingdom 2015 Discovery 4 3.0 SDV6 HSE Auto Fuji WhiteDiscovery 4

Just had this problem with mine again! (2nd time in 6years - last time was fixed under warranty). Found a tip elsewhere on here to use bicycle tyre levers to get the trim off. I used my plastic tyre levers which worked a treat and left no marks (unlike the dealer, who seems to have used a screwdriver (or knife??) and scratched all the paint under the trim. Didn't need to use the allen key fix because local dealer (yeovil) had replacement latch in stock (me thinks they get a lot of requests for this part??)
Anyway - all fixed until the next time.
