privacy glass what is it?

Ok, dumb question I guess BUT here in Australia I don't know what this means unless it is a form of window tinting?

You got it - two types, factory fit darkened glass or dealer (or aftermarket) fitted tints.

The privacy glass is not an option on Australian D3's. It was standard on D2s. With our climate, you'd think LR would continue with it. Maybe it's a compliance issue??

UV rays

Does anyone know for sure if the factory fitted privacy glass blocks UV rays? I heard from a friend that the privacy glass in his VW multivan does not block UV, so he had an aftermarket tint applied in addition to the factory tint to protect his children from UV.
