When I lived Scotland used to get my tyres from a company in Motherwell, I can't remember there name as I was never at the place but got collected for me and they the cheapest by far for top end tyres. Maybe somebody from round could name a few it would refresh my mind.
I looked on yell.com recently to try to try see if any of there names would spring to mind as I would like to get hold of there details as they beat anyone I could find on tyres.
I know this posts all a bit vague but as I said maybe someone knows a cheap company from Motherwell, and that just could be them, seemingly they where a distributor for most of the depots in that area.
All that said its still good to stay local, as your more than likely going to use them to fit and repair so for a few quid more it's normally the best bet.

Jim Williamson of Strathearn Tyres is still a good call, if you don't ask you don't get.

Just to say that I have now got 4 x General Grabber At's 255 x 55 x 19 for £640 fitted from the local mobile tyre fitter in Fort William.
I think that's as good a price as anywhere.

I've just been quoted £805 all in for 4 Goodyear Duratrac 255 55 19s. First quote I've had so I'm not sure if that's good or bad. 2015 Discovery 4 HSE Corris with Blackpack

I got 2 GG delivered for £40 cheaper per tyre from AJS 4x4
Than I was getting quoted locally.
Took them to small local fitter £10 each for fitting, balancing
So worked out £30 cheaper than lowest local quote
Top blokes to deal with
D3 57 xs Stornaway grey
D2 02 commercial silver gone but a great servant and won't be forgotten

Paddocks look reasonable for GGs, £145 plus vat each, how does that compare? Joined the BMWX5 45e group

Just to throw another name into the mix for those in Glasgow area - Performance Tyres in Carmunnock just south of Glasgow. Wife took our D4 XS there today with what looked like a slow puncture on a rear tyre - original Goodyear M&S having done 15K miles since new in Oct 2011.
Puncture fixed for £10 and she was told all tyres still good for several thousand miles. Same tyre supplied and fitted would be £180 (at today's rates) with 4 wheel alignment for £37.
Seemed pretty good to me.

Service at Jim Dicksons not the same now since old Jim retired and now the sons run it. All you see is tyre fitters with mobile phones glued to there ears. But still give them the for price.
