Info about tyre height please.

We recently own a D3 -08 without air suspension, rear tyres 255/60 R18 Yokohama Geolandar,
front 2 Continentals.
We come from Defender and we enjoy the D3 comfort and power, but we need some more bottom space.
This beauty is a bit to low for the mountain tracks we want to make, we will start with a skid plate, but what is the highest safe tyre available on the '18 and still fitting in the wheel(kast...)?
No more mud Yawn

Thanks for any info

JM

Hi JM,
I have the Cooper LTZ 285/60/18's. They are 800mm in diameter. The Pirelli ATR 255/55/19's that I had on originally were 763mm.
The LTZ's dont require any mods to the vehicle, however they will only fit underneath in the spare wheel well if they are deflated. OK for me as I carry a portable compressor at all times.

Cheers, Craig

Hi Smorf,
I changed to Kings Springs, which gave me a 65mm lift, approximating off-road height with an air bag D3.

Great!
Thanks to you both guys, the Cooper LTZ 285/60R18 looks great and his performances seems to be ok too.
I can start with these and give it a try, need some new shoes anyway.
Fitting the King Springs gives even a better offroad hight, but we still can save this for later.

Thxs for the info

JM
