Just had my D4 in for her 36 mth service and got a call from the dealer to say the rear break PADS were cracked and needed replacing. They told me that this was something they see quite often but no one from service dept was available to give further info. They are calling me tomorrow so will let you know what they say. In the mean time I was wondering if any one had hear of this before. Thanks.

Yes, it is something we come across frequently in our workshop.
The pads crack due to excessive heat, caused by seized calipers, or the brake pads seizing in the carriers. The only way around it is to strip and clean the brakes every service (which we do as part of our servicing )

There was supposed to be some kind of a fix for the brake binding issue.
