You can upload any photo you want to the gallery, and just pick (copy and paste) the link given after "Avatar" when viewing the pic after it's uploaded.
M$ software is pants for photos - let the gallery take the strain 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

Insead of the MS software, I use a free bit of software caller PhotoScape for all of my photo edits, trimming resizing etc. It is free online and pretty good. It does way more than I wil ever need.
I'm not sure if it is the best bit of software out there nowadays as I have just stuck with the same programme (with regular updates) for a few years.
Clearly there are better ways of doing your Avatar (as above), but PhotoScape may be useful for other things too may be..?

Paste into the "Link to off-site Avatar:" box towards the bottom of the Profile page, you don't need to go into the Avatar gallery 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

For those who do want to resize pics, here's a good free bit of software.

Been using it for a few years and recommend it ...... always on the road less travelled 🚧
