has anyone checked the nose weight of their Sankey trailer.
I thought about fitting an onboard water tank but thought I would check the nose weight first.
I used some scales that went up to 120kg - the scales went right past 120Kg and now they dont work
everything is distributed in the trailer the best it can be but just wondering what everyone elses nose weight was ? Duncan

DD from memory the D3 max is 150 kg depending on your towing attachment Alko say lower than the max. With a NATO hitch I am sure you could go to the max. try using bathroom scales and a suitable length of wood. I guess you may have to move things around a bit.

thanks
i know what the D3 limit is but wanted to know what others have as a nose weight to see whether mine is excessivly heavy - I reckon it must be at 140Kg already
i cant move anything around that will make enough difference to add a 40litre water tank.
Ive already broken one set of bathroom scales so putting a second set under it and expecting a different result probably wont work - it will just get me into more trouble Duncan

With My sankey Dunc, I always tried to load it so I could (where possible) lift it with one hand. So plenty lower than the 120kg yours is showing. Bodsys Brake Bible

Hi dunc,
i would go for 150kg, you also dont want it to be to light.
i fitted a 70Ltr tank directly over the axel, it hardly affects the nose weight at all. CLUB "Ah Shor it'll be grand"

hi Chris, how did you get the tank bewteen the axle and the base of the tub - theres not much room ? especially when suspension is at its lowest - or did you fit it inside... which I dont have room for Duncan

Dunc
When I fitted your trailer with the 2x220aH batteries in the battery box just behind the hitch I nearly gave myself an hernia. I would hazard a guess at around the 200kg mark especially when Uncle Ray fabricated the said battery box out of inch thick depleted uranium and an old Challenger tank. Club Exped trailer

those batteries do weigh quite a bit. i certainly cant lift the jockey wheel off the ground !!
i was thinking maybe i might need to add some water tanks at the back of the trailer to balance the weight
200kgs nose wieght though
not had any problem with towing or handling etc - tows like a dream Duncan
