A/C blowing hot and cold at same time. The answer

Hi all,
scenario, leave garage and switch a/c on with both front controls set at 22. 300m up the road and drivers is blowing really cold air while passenger is blowing warm. It will eventually sort itself out after 8-10km.
Are there 2 different sensors in the cabin detecting if one is in sun and the other in shade? I'm clutching at straws and trying to avoid a trip to the dealer.

OK, just back from dealer. they found the system was over-gassed. All sorted they said…NOT. 2 km's up the road and same problem. Back to dealers next Monday for round 2. Thud

Just back from the dealers and it appears ops are normal. It's actually blowing cool and cold due to there being a sun sensor under the grill on top of the dash. This sensor can determine if one side is more in sun than the other and adjust the flow of air accordingly. The tech said that the software was downloaded from the car sent to JLR and they said it's all normal.

If its anything like the system in the ffrr then there are 2 valves in the engine bay which control the flow of water to the 2 heater matricees. If its the same type of system its possible one is sticking

Just and idea.
