Brakes Squeaking in Reverse - Start of EPB Problems? |
|
Our D3 (2009MY, 30k) has developed an unpleasant brake squeal when reversing after the EPB is released - it's also squeaking for a short time when you then drive forwards.
Is this how the EPB problems announce themselves?

I would guess it needs a clean and adjust as per bodsy s bible... you could confirm the shoes are dragging by jacking it up applying the brake and then releasing it spin the wheels by hand and you should be able to hear and feel any dragging Don’t worry it is supposed to sound like that...honest

Could be that they're worn or something else has broken off or about to break...
Only real thing to do is strip and clean. Bodsys Brake Bible

Thanks, that's what I'd thought - it's under LR warranty so I'll speak to the dealer.
Just had a similar (but less noisy) issue with the Range Rover, which has only done 3k miles - seems LR aren't very good at electronic parking brakes ...
